a 1,300 year old traditional Japanese table massage. The
Amma sequence has been adapted for use on seated, fully
clothed clients and comprises 28 acupressure techniques,
incorporating 60 acupressure points.
The routine covers the head,
neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms and hands. It takes 15-minutes
and enables the client to relax completely, yet feel rejuvenated
and clearly focused. It can also be adapted for 5,10, 20
and 30 minutes sessions.
Well
Mother Shiatsu
Well Mother is an integration
of shiatsu massage, ante and post natal exercise/education,
baby massage and relaxation. Well Mother's primary aim is
to support the wisdom of parents and babies by promoting
the use of bodywork, especially massage, shiatsu and exercise,
as a core part of 21st century maternity care.
Japanese
Facial Massage
Japanese facial massage is unique.
While Western facial massage addresses the external skin
itself, Japanese facial massage is concerned with the condition
of the skin, subcutaneous musculature and what is referred
to as ki, or the life-force energy, often translated as
"bioelectricity." Traditionally, the purpose of
Japanese facial massage is to work specifically and precisely
with the facial meridians and tsubo (acupuncture points)
to achieve a balance in the entire facial skin, the facial
muscles, and the internal organs.
Barefoot
Shiatsu
This style of shiatsu coordinates
the breathing of the giver and the receiver as an important
part of the treatment. A vigorous style, which includes
not only pressing with the hands and thumbs. It helps to
loosen up the stiffness that so many people have. Stretching
is also an important element of this style.
Thai
Yoga Massage
Thai Massage works on an energy
line system (called the Ten Sen) through which the body's
natural life force flows. Blockages in this life force cause
aches, pains and disease. Using hands, feet and elbows to
apply pressure to important points along these lines, in
combination with gentle stretching and applied hatha yoga.
This releases blocked energy and frees the body's own natural
healing potential, thus restoring balance, health and harmony.
